The theater community suffered a great loss with the early passing of Lynn Zednick Shaw this past August after a bravely fought battle with cancer.  Lynn -  “Zed”  - taught theater in Washington, California and Colorado before settling in Texas.  For 25 years she taught, directed, motivated and inspired students at J.J. Pearce High School.  The plays she directed were known for bringing out the best in her actors.  The musicals she directed never failed to delight and entertain sell out audiences each year. Her students and cast members came from all walks of high school life.  Many of her students have gone on to successful careers in the performing arts industry, including stage and film.  All of her students took something positive away from their experience in her theater, including confidence in their ability to succeed in whatever they chose to do in life.

Lynn’s family has established a scholarship fund in her memory and all proceeds from this one night only show will be donated to the fund.  In addition, the Pearce Theater Booster Club has established a memorial fund, which will be used to erect a permanent memorial to Lynn at Pearce in front of the auditorium.
