Pearce Theatre presents...The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

The competition is intense. The words are hilarious. Let the spelling begin! The show centers around a fictional spelling bee in Putnam County, New York. A junior high school gym is set up to host the county spelling finals. Six of Putnam County's quirkiest and nerdiest spelling titans want nothing more than to be the “B-E-S-T”. These loveable spellers fiercely battle it out for the title only to learn that winning isn't everything and losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. They compete against each other as well as members of the audience. Three adults help adjudicate the proceedings: a nostalgic former spelling bee winner, a mildly insane Vice Principal, and the Official Comfort Counselor completing her community service to the state of New York.
Any way you spell it, the hilarious and musical stories of six obsessed word lovers, their families, and the judges come alive with a “C-O-R-N-U-C-O-P-I-A” of spelling words, a “P-L-E-T-H-O-R-A” of sharp humor, and “I-N-T-E-L-L-I-G-E-N-T” interaction from some of Pearce’s most talented performers.

General Admission tickets are $8.00 Adults and $5.00 for Students/Srs.
